Icon Accounting continue Sponsorship of the Dublin Sonics Basketball Club for 2019

At Icon Accounting, we are dedicated to supporting our local community and that is why Icon Accounting are pleased to announce our continued sponsorship of the Dublin Sonics Basketball Club for 2019.

Since the Dublin Sonics were founded in 2014, the club has enjoyed huge success over the years, from winning the Dublin Cup Championships 3 years in a row, a cup and league double and representing Dublin at The All Ireland Club Championships in 2017.  Many of the Sonics players can also be found on Dublin and East regional representative teams and the National team talent academy.

This season, the club is battling on several fronts, with the U14s and the U15s teams through to the Dublin Cup finals in March and the U16s hoping to make it 4 cups in a row.  All 3 teams are in contention for their leagues with the U16s looking to secure a place at the All Ireland finals in April.

At Dublin Sonics, the club receives no funding and relies on the members of the club and sponsors to keep it going. As Frank Donohoe, the General Manager of Dublin Sonics Basketball Club, explains “Basketball is an expensive sport to run and as a small club the sponsorship we receive from Icon Accounting means we can provide enough gym hours for our players to have contact with the ball and develop individual skills and team fundamentals. It allows us to purchase gear and equipment compete and beat much bigger clubs to silverware.  It is both a lifeline and the driver of the club’s success.”
