Relocating to Ireland Series – Part 2 - How to Open an Irish Bank Account

  • Expenses

In Part 2 of our Relocating to Ireland series we look at how to open an Irish bank account. Icon Accounting can make payment into any bank account, here or abroad. Contractors who have an Irish bank account will be more likely to receive the funds Icon transfers slightly quicker than Contractors do not open an Irish bank account. If you are a non-resident and you wish to open your own Irish bank account, we always advise to call your chosen bank beforehand to establish their specific requirements in relation to the documentation they require. As each bank requirements differ it is important that the required documentation is gathered, ideally before you depart for Ireland. Generally, the below documentation is required to be presented to at your local branch: - Photo ID - Two proofs of address from two different vendors Also, depending on what bank you choose, some may also require the additional information: - And possibly proof of employment - PPS number Once you have received your new bank account details, please inform Contractorsupport@iconaccounting.ie
